Design & Development Artifacts

Mobile Learning

Select the buttons above to view artifacts that were a result of a Micro Learning that I developed on Mobile Learning and presented in IT532. Included here are my plan (Activity Showcase), the presentation (Activity Showcase PowerPoint), and my reflection (Activity Showcase Reflection). I picked this activity, presentation, and reflection because they marked my initial experience presenting information via Zoom, showcasing the progress I've made in online presentations since then. Additionally, I selected this artifact due to the contrast between my perspective and the covered material. Mobile learning in my opinion is becoming increasingly more integrated into higher education.

Design Case

Select the Design Case Draft button above to access my developed and presented design case from IT593. I chose a design case because I believe they are a powerful tool in instructional design, they support collaboration, knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, evidence-based practice, and professional development within the field. The specific design case I am currently working on illustrates the importance of validating seemingly excellent instructional ideas with a Subject Matter Expert (SME) before implementation This verification ensures precise alignment of instructional content with subject matter expertise, validating accuracy and relevance. In addition this practice also fosters a collaborative partnership between the instructor and the Subject Matter Expert (SME), optimizing the overall quality and effectiveness of the learning experience for the students.

Observation Training for Supervisors

Select the buttons above to view artifacts that were a result of a training program that I developed in IT 570 to assist supervisors in conducting meaningful and thorough observations while in the field. I've chosen these specific artifacts as they offer a comprehensive view of the entire training program design process—from issue recognition and thorough analysis to objective development, instructional unit creation, and evaluation.
For this assignment I chose to utilize learner related sequencing which allowed me to focus on learner characteristics such as prior experience, cognitive development, and motivation. For the evaluation portion of the program, I chose to utilize both formative and summative evaluations. Deploying both formative and summative evaluations allows me to ensure that the learners are progressing as I feel they should while also allowing me to evaluate the overall effectiveness of the program. Inside the final product is a detailed proposal that breaks down every component and includes a budget for the total development of the program.

Effective Email Communication

Please select the buttons above to access the outcomes generated through our collective efforts in developing a program while serving as consultants in EDPY 521. Together with my planning team—comprising Amanda Back, Janet Jones, Katie Merritt, and Samantha Smart—we formulated a program embedded with principles from EDPY 521. I have specifically selected these artifacts to underscore my collaborative leadership approach, emphasizing the importance of teamwork at every stage of the project. Additionally, they showcase my proficiency in project development, and in employing the ADDIE model.
In our group paper, we meticulously delineate the steps of the ADDIE process, providing a comprehensive breakdown of our training program plan. The "The Write Stuff" presentation and its accompanying worksheets functioned as our tools for presentation and assessment during the implementation phase. The culmination of the project is marked by our class presentation, which offers valuable insights into the analysis phase. Here, we delve into each step of the ADDIE model, reflecting on what proved effective, what didn't, and presenting the lessons we learned from the experience.
