Professional Statement

As an aspiring instructional design and technology professional, my goal is to utilize technologies and innovative pedagogical approaches to produce student centered learning experiences. My goal is to earn my place at the table by providing engaging, inclusive, and effective learning experiences to all learners. While earning my degree, I have been able to gain greater insight into the ever-changing world of instructional design and technology. I have learned that while my time in the classroom may be coming to an end my journey as a student will continue. While at UTK I have undertaken several different projects dealing with accessibility, ethics, multimedia, design cases, and grant proposals. While some of these endeavors were previously unfamiliar to me, I am now armed with this knowledge, and I am proficient at seamlessly incorporating these skills into my professional repertoire.

In addition to the many solo projects that I have completed during the course of my academic journey I have also been able to engage in collaboration with my fellow students on group projects. While working on these group projects during my time in the IT program, I have not only acquired invaluable knowledge and expertise but have forged lasting professional relationships with my peers.
